Position: JLD National Rep & Membership Officer

I am a trainee solicitor at DFA Law in Northampton. I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2001 with a Politics degree and subsequently spent a year travelling around Australia and South East Asia. On returning to my home town of Northampton, I worked as a Project Manager in a local business for 3 years, until one day I had a kind of epiphany and decided that my calling was to the law!
In 2005 I returned to study, for the GDL conversion course at De Montfort University in Leicester, followed by the LPC, and I was fortunate enough to begin my training contract straight afterwards in 2007.

While studying I also qualified as a Generalist Advisor at the Northampton Citizens Advice Bureau and I retain a keen interest in providing necessary legal services to the people of Northampton!
While training, I have also become a ratified FRU employment representative. I am also a mentor to students in the department of legal studies at De Montfort University, and give regular careers talks to A-Level and GCSE students at local schools.
I am very pleased to have the honour of being the NBJL's National Rep to the JLD for the second year running and I look forward to representing you well! Feel free to contact me!
